We all know how the modern history’s 2020 pandemic has affected everything including academics, schools, institutions to universities bringing the whole concept of education to a halt. And when it resumed, online education took over for a while now which totally needed parents to attend the classes more than it needed the children.

The disturbances of the household, that very option to turn off the camera at your tutors, and to join the class at our own wish- A big fraud in itself for the education system.

So while all this has been going on, once my little dear daughter was during her online class and I observed that she was not attentive and rather playing with her colours.

I screamed like we normal mothers do (from all my vocal cords ;)) to be attentive towards the teacher. And my little one replied, “yes mom, I am studying!”.

To my surprise when I looked, she was making the alphabet(A) with the colour pencils and it was not even directed by the teacher.

I don’t know why or how my anger subsided.

  • Kids are more creative than we think when it comes to learning anything.
  • Their own ways to adapt things makes it easier for them to learn things.
  • It is not necessary to make the kid scribble pages and pages to learn or practice the basics. Make it fun way.
  • Pressurizing little minds according to our viewpoint may destroy their ability to achieve milestones in their own ways too. Let us stop that mothers.
  • Give them time, access to handy creatives to explore their ingenious minds.
  • Let them play with play doughs, puzzles, paints and colours and ask them to make what they like, spell it to them. In this way, they have lots of options to learn through with.
  • Practical learning is way more better than making them buck up theories without any interests. Show them models which exists, let them explore reality.
  • Make their screen time/ gadget time like a milestone which can be achieved at completing certain tasks.
  • Watch informative documentaries along with them which can nurture their knowledge even more.
  • Give them options. Not orders.
  • Every child can learn. Just not in the same way. Understand and respect that.
  • If they don’t make mistakes, they won’t learn / explore.
  • Every child is NOT the same.
  • Make them competitively better. Not comparatively better.
  • And most importantly, children are most likely to live up to of what you believe of them.

Your child’s mental health is more important than the grades.
